The house sits on the crest of a low pass among vine-covered hills on the edge of the Pomurje plain, were the roads meet from Radenci to the north, Lenart v Slovenskih Goricah to the west, and Murska Sobota to the east.
The house has been around for at least 230 years, as evidenced by the inscription carved on the preserved exposed beam in the Farmer’s Room, which reads 1791. Originally built of wood and mud, with a thatched roof, this used to be a typical Pannonian house known as ‘cimprača’. Today, the building has been fully renovated, but keeps its original, typically Pannonian L-shaped floor plan. Interestingly, its owners in the early twentieth century had a vine grafting business.
With renovation, Vinea Panonika became a sophisticated place to socialize, its modern amenities with a traditional touch offering everything food and wine lovers could wish for. Vinea Panonika is a perfect getaway to escape your daily routine, relax, and unwind, as well as a synonym for quality local produce as it once was.
